CompCheck Lens privacy policy
CompCheck Lens is a browser extension that shows PulseTCG market prices and your PulseTCG collection on eBay card listings. It has no servers of its own, collects no analytics, shows no ads, and never sells or shares your data. Everything it stores stays in your browser.
CompCheck Lens is not affiliated with PulseTCG or eBay.
What the extension reads
- eBay listing pages. On eBay item pages (ebay.co.uk and ebay.com), it reads the listing you're viewing: the title, item specifics such as card name, number, set, grade and language, the price, postage, and any coupon or Best Offer text. It reads nothing else on eBay, and doesn't run on any other website.
- Your PulseTCG account, after you sign in. When you choose Sign in with PulseTCG, you approve read-only access on PulseTCG's own sign-in page. The extension then reads market prices and the holdings in your PulseTCG portfolios (quantities, what you paid and portfolio names) to show whether you own the card on a listing.
What it sends, and to whom
-
PulseTCG (
pulsetcg.ioandmcp.pulsetcg.io). To find the product and its price, the extension sends PulseTCG search terms built from the listing (the card name, number and set) and PulseTCG product ids. To check ownership, it sends the product's name to search your holdings. Requests are made with your PulseTCG sign-in, so PulseTCG's own privacy policy also applies to them. -
Frankfurter (
api.frankfurter.app), a public exchange-rate service. To convert prices between pounds and dollars, the extension sends it only a currency code, such as GBP.
It sends nothing to eBay, and nothing to the extension's developer.
What it stores in your browser
All of this is kept in the extension's own browser storage, on your device. It isn't synced anywhere.
- Your PulseTCG sign-in tokens, so you stay signed in.
- Your settings, such as whether to include postage.
- Matched products and prices, for up to 30 minutes, so revisiting a listing is quick.
- Holdings looked up for a product, for up to 10 minutes.
- Exchange rates, for up to 12 hours.
- Any product you picked by hand with Not this card?, for that listing.
Your choices
- Sign out in the extension's settings to delete your sign-in tokens and revoke the extension's access at PulseTCG.
- Remove the extension to delete everything it has stored. Chrome deletes an extension's storage when it's removed.
- You can also review or revoke the extension's access from your account on PulseTCG.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received through this extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to show prices and your collection on the listing you're viewing.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Questions or concerns can be raised on the project's GitHub issues page.
